Freedom Celebration

July 10th was the Crowley Freedom Celebration at a city park. Greg, by brother in law works part time for a group that does fireworks shows around the DFW area. He told us this was going to be a good show, because Chesapeake Energy spared no expenses on the fireworks. We got there early, and princess and her cousin, Bethany, rode rides. We then ate, and got a great seat for the wonderful show. Greg and his team did a great job!! Lots of cheers and applause by everyone!
Here are pictures of the girls. I just love them. Each time I look at these, my heart melts.
They are just too cute, and love each other so much!

I just LOVE this one! The back view of them giggling at each other is precious.

June

June came and went in a flash!
Our little angel is now 2 years old, and that is so hard to believe! Her birthday party was fun. We had friends and family. I must apologize because we only took a few pictures. We took more video than anything. It's hard to I t entertain the birthday girl, the guests, serve cake, open gifts, and take pictures! It was a very fun afternoon watching the kids play together and smear cake all over the place! Princess got some very neat gifts, some of which include: bubbles, tea set, books, swimsuit, dishes, baby doll, and a puzzle.
I think we did a good job picking out her laptop, because she has played with it over an hour each day since. She really loves it. She loves repeating the numbers and letters! So proud of her! She got some adorable dresses at her party. She wore one the next day to church, but I didnt think to get a picture while her hair was in a bow, so I took a picture after a nap, so this is it below. I just love the colors!I'm glad other people also love shopping for little girls!!

Rough Week

Last Wednesday, the 12th, I had my oral surgery. 6 wisdom teeth removed, and a small piece of jawbone, plus lots of tissue. The surgeon told me it would be a pretty rough surgery, because they were so deeply impacted. He said the typical 3-4 day recovery would not hold true in my case. WELL, let me say, Dr Hall, you were correct!
The first few days were awful. On day #2, I got dehydrated (b/c drinking was painful), and passed out several times. Got a lovely gash on my arm from falling into a solid piece of furniture.
Jay did a great job bringing me my meds, water, slim fast, and cold cloths.
He had to be a single parent because I could not even get out of bed. It broke my heart not cuddle with my sweet girl each night.
Jay's birthday was Sunday, so I felt like I had to get up and join him for dinner.
I attempted to eat rice with cheese and sour cream. It was PAIN, and more PAIN.
I could not sleep that night because my mouth was pure fire. I called the doctor monday, barely able to speak, and he told me to get to his office ASAP. He looked me over and found loose and missing stitches, and dry socket. He filled the wounds with medince drenched gauze. Oh, the taste is nasty, but it sure has helped the pain. I've also got a new less potent painkiller that I can take during the day and still be able to function on. I hope to be eating next week, and very little pain!
So, with the last week being a blur, I have taken NO pictures.
Below are some from a couple weeks ago.
I will try my best to get back on track with timely updates!

Potty Camp

Well this week was "Potty Camp" at the backup daycare at my work location.
We decided to sign princess up for it because she has been very interested in the potty and taking her diaper off. Her teachers told us they thought she was ready for training.

So, it began this Monday. I was excited to see what would come of the week, but very nervous to have her out of her typical routine and daycare.

Being a place she had not been to in several months, she was rather scared on Monday morning.
When I kissed her and said goodbye, huge alligator tears instantly began falling, and she was crying, "mama, mama. "
It absolutely broke my heart and I cried on the elevator going back up to my desk.
It was so hard to see her that way because she never cries at her regular daycare. She usually gives her teachers a hug, and starts playing.

I called at breakfast to see if she had calmed down, and they assured me she had. Then I went to check on her at lunch. I peered in through the window to watch her, so that she would not see me and get emotional. She was eating lunch at the tiny little table with several friends, and smiling.
A few hours later when it was time to leave for the day, she burst out crying as soon as she saw me walk in. She grabbed my hand and walked me over to where her belongings were so that I could gather them. I scooped her up, and she gave me the biggest hug. It was so wonderful!
I guess the waking up extra early, and different people and surroundings really messed with her, because she was a royal bear Monday night. She was screaming for no apparent reason, and throwing things against the wall. She wanted nothing to do with her daddy, and only mommy could bathe her and give her breathing treatment. Oh, and mommy had to rock her for over an hour to get her to sleep!

We started it all over again on Tuesday. Her crying as I walked off got to me again. I so wanted to turn around and just take her home to play all day, but I had so much work to do this week.
When I picked her up Tuesday, they informed me that she had gone twice on the potty, and was very pleased with herself!!!
They told me that she definitely has the concept down, but still struggling with pulling her pull up and shorts down.
Tuesday night was a bit better, but she still wanted only mommy near her.

Wednesday was better for both of us. She went once on the potty, but stayed dry in her pull-ups, and was less fussy at home. I had such a headache that I was desperate for her daddy to watch her all evening, but she refused that plan. I tried to go to to the store for just a few minutes and she screamed for me the entire time.
I cuddled with her when I returned and finally got her to bed.

Thursday drop-off was a tad bit easier because she had a doll with her. She still cried like crazy though. When I picked her up, the teachers told me had refused to eat all day, and did not sit on the potty. I was disappointed, but not mad. I'm sure she was exhausted and tired of this place.
She would not take a single bite of dinner for me, so I knew she was just worn out.
I had to deliver a meal to some friends, but she was willing to stay with daddy and play, finally!
I got back home and got her to bed rather easily.

So, it's now Friday, and she is not potty trained, but that is totally fine with me. I do not want to rush her or stress her. We will continue working with her and let her decide when she is ready.
She is back to normal routine today. Daddy got her ready and took her to her regular daycare, so I'm sure she'll have a great day!
I cannot wait to go get her once my house is clean for our dinner party tonight!

I love my little girl so, so much!!

Our little family

Everyday I look at our little princess and find it hard to believe she is an active toddler already!
It was SO much fun to watch her play with her cousins at my sister's house this past weekend.
They are all so wonderful with her, and just adore her. She loves them so much too!

Last night was one of those times I wish I could just freeze in time.
We had a busy evening delivering food to a dear family, and then playing with toys, so princess was tired and went to bed without a fuss, as usual.
Well, about an hour later, she was crying andf asking for mama.
I tried to rock her in the recliner in her room, but my back was hurting, so I took her to the living room sofa with me (thinking she'd lay with me).
She decided to tickle me and play peek a boo. I of course had to tickle her back and shower her with hugs and kisses.
Oh, the giggles just melted my heart!
We continued being silly for about another 20 minutes when she decides she wants to sit with daddy.
He alsoi tried to get her to lay down, but she wanted to be silly with him too.
Watching them play and laugh just made my heart so incredibly happy.
I thank God for an overall healthy daughter and husband!
Thank you God for allowing us the physical abilities to play and be silly.

I just never knew that I could be SO happy, but I truly am.
My little girl inspires me to be a better person and a stronger Christian lady.
God, thank you so much for my perfect little family. You have blessed my life in countless ways!!

Please take time out of your schedule to just act silly with someone you love.
It will make their day!!
